Don’t be afraid to begin.

It’s very common to hear women say they don’t know where to start with their fitness journey. Many feel intimidated by the gym—and that alone keeps them from going. Or they go, but skip the weight room and head straight for the cardio machines.

And I get it.

The weight room can still feel like a male-dominated space and feel overwhelming. I’m not here to push you into anything you’re not ready for.

You can absolutely work out at home. In fact, I do it often myself. It’s easy to buy weights and create a routine in your own space. But the gym also offers equipment and opportunities you just might not have room for at home.

And yes—it can feel uncomfortable at first. No way around that.

But that discomfort doesn’t last. Like anything new, the more you do it, the more familiar—and less intimidating—it becomes. And truthfully? Most people at the gym are far more focused on themselves than on anyone else.

If anything, it can become an opportunity—not just to build physical strength, but to build confidence. To gently question where that insecurity comes from.

And maybe… to start letting it go.
